Welcome to my Web site!

I hope you have found this website as the result of a recent Q-so over the air !

I'm Ed Mulvaney and I am a General Class Ham Radio Operator based in Greer, South Carolina. My exact Coordinates are   34.52.86 Latitude  &  -82.17.90 Longitude

I am approximately 950 feet above sea level on the Eastern Slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I have been a licenced Ham since just the first of 2008.. I've been around radio and DX much longer. Since my girls are grown now I have time to get back into a hobby I enjoyed as a kid.

My first radio was a C.B. back in 1970, a gift from my dad. My father was a U.S. Navy "Radioman 2nd Class" in the Korean War stationed aboard a Destroyer Escort. He was proficent in the use of Morse Code.. which he copied until his death in the early 80's I still have his  Hallicrafters S118 here in my shack. I dedicate this site and my love of HAM Radio to him.. He taught me to listen !

I began my career in DX'ing in the 70's... in which I worked Canada and Western US states from a bedroom closet shack set up with help from my Dad.. I was equipted with a brand new state of the art Cobra 40 ch. SSB Base station transmitting thru a ground plane at 60 ft. It was an effective set-up until the lighting hit it !   I had a great hill-top to transmit from.

I too joined the U.S. Navy in 1980 and spent 6 years as a Corpsman or "Doc" as the Marines called us. I enjoyed my time in the service. I have been back in Greenville / Greer S.C. since.

Over the years I have worked 110+ different foreign countries around the World.... spreading hope,  good cheer and a little Southern Hospitality !!

I hope you enjoy seeing a little of my world and I look forward to meeting again over the air !

Until we meet again..
